Summary

The 7Artisans 50mm T1.5 Dream is a dedicated manual focus cinema prime designed for full-frame mirrorless camera systems, released as part of the specialized Dream series by 7Artisans. Crafted specifically for independent filmmakers, cinematographers, and content creators seeking an organic aesthetic, this lens combines a versatile standard focal length with an ultra-bright T1.5 transmission value. Covering an expansive 43.5mm image circle across 35mm sensors, the optical design emphasizes gentle micro-contrast, expressive highlight falloff, and smooth tonal transitions that create an artistic cinematic atmosphere rather than a sterile digital rendition.

Mechanically, the 7Artisans 50mm T1.5 Dream incorporates true cinema ergonomics engineered to integrate seamlessly into professional production workflows. It features standard 0.8 MOD geared rings for focus and iris control, allowing direct pairing with wireless follow focus units and manual focus rigs. A generous 300-degree focus rotation enables exceptionally precise focus pulls across varying camera distances, while the stepless, completely de-clicked aperture ring allows seamless exposure transitions during dynamic takes. With an 88mm standardized front outside diameter, an 82mm screw-in front filter thread, and an optical layout of 9 elements in 7 groups with 10 aperture blades, the housing delivers optical character alongside controlled focus breathing.

On production sets, the 7Artisans 50mm T1.5 Dream serves as a reliable core prime for narrative cinema, music videos, commercial storytelling, and dramatic dialogue scenes. Its fast maximum aperture provides profound depth-of-field separation and clean low-light performance on locations with natural ambient illumination. Supported natively across Sony E, Nikon Z, Canon RF, and Leica L mirrorless mounts, this compact cine prime offers production crews a dependable and creative optical tool built for expressive moving images with consistent physical handling.
